Bible Text: II Corinthians 1:12 |

Be About the One Thing                 January 22, 2017

2 Corinthians 1:12  For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

By the grace of God we have an abundant life. The lovers of the appearing of the Lord. It’s the grace of God that changes you from glory to glory. The testimony of a life that finishes with a full joy, that has a good conscience toward God. God help us to have a testimony. The simplicity that is in Christ. His mercy, grace, and love has already been given. We have been blessed with all spiritual blessings. There is nothing lacking, just grow up in what’s been given. There is so much more. The greatest pleasure is He increasing and me decreasing.

I Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Simplicity has two outstanding definitions: singleness and freedom. Singleness is nothing added, complete in Him. The Lord begins to take you out from among the camp. Your life will be about one thing: the mark, the goal, the prize, to win and finish with a full joy. Complete in all the measure, stature, fullness; a vessel ready to be presented to the King. It’s so important to have the fullness of the Holy Ghost to minister the deep things and all truth. This world is full of distractions. The only satisfaction is Jesus.

SOS 7:10 I am my beloved’s and his desire is toward me.

There is only one freedom, liberty in Christ. When His thoughts toward you captivate your every thought, it lifts us from this life, gives us complete freedom. God will complete that which concerns you. Call what you need God to do as though it is done.

Romans 4:17 and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

We have abounding hope. He will perform it. There are very few people looking for Jesus’ return. When we are captivated with Him we are not weighed down with the cares of this life. Without a vision people perish. Gather with people who are about the one thing. Nothing matters but Jesus. The mark for the prize. We don’t need to be about anything else. Be still and watch the mighty hand of God. Don’t devise your own way. He’s given us this bridal calling, and everything we’ve experienced has brought us to hear it.

Philippians 3:13  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

If we’re thinking of the past (behind us) we’re not reaching forward. What is the one thing that is set before us? The mark, the prize. Christ my prize. The beauty of the simplicity of Christ! Give us that passion for the midst of the throne!
