Bible Text: Philippians 3:4-7 |

Who are You? Who am I? January 31, 2016

This is not talking about where you are from, your background, or even your name.
The answer is you are a child of God, accepted in the Beloved, seated in the heavens with Christ.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
We know who we are, but what are we living? Are we living the old things are passed away and all things are new; are you living your first birth (born of man) or your new birth (born of God)? The world says who you are is what you have and what you do. All of that is dung (refuse).
Philippians 3:4-8 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: 5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; 6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. 7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
Whether they are positive or negative attributes in the flesh it will stumble you. If you don’t count them loss they will rob you. Paul was the chief of sinners, his emphasis was winning Jesus as Bridegroom, and anything about you has to be counted as dung. The world will try to get you to put the emphasis on the temporal and not the eternal.
Philippians 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
No matter what we had, it’s all dung. We are about the Word of God because that’s the life that lives in us – Jesus! We’ve been given all this but are we walking in it? So much distracts us, the Word says, “Just be”. It’s a great battle – temporal vs. eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:14-18 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
The inward man is Christ in you. The outward man is flesh (which means strange). If we know the word we will know who we are and who we are not. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (I John 4:4). If we live flesh it is a lie. Walk in the Spirit and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. We need the mind of Christ. Be captivated by His thoughts of glory. Living the outward man will never allow us to live the beauty of the inward man. Pray in your most holy faith. The Holy Ghost will guide you into all truth.
Who am I? A chaste virgin. Called to be alive, loving the soon appearing of my Bridegroom. All by the grace of God. Loose self from the lies of this life and live the truth of who you are – Christ in you. Fight the good fight of faith.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
