Bible Text: Deuteronomy 8:2-4 |

 Remembering                      February 12, 2017

We rejoice in forgetting those things which are behind. Old things are passed away and all things are become new. But there is a remembering.

Deuteronomy 8:2-4  And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.  3  And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.  4  Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.

Never forget all the way God led thee.

Psalms 77:1-12  To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of Asaph. I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.  2  In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.  3  I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.  4  Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.  5  I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.  6  I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.  7  Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?  8  Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?  9  Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.  10  And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.  11  I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.  12  I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

In order that doubt and despair don’t set in; and for that abounding to be present in a life, you must remember all the mighty acts of God, especially in your life. The daily miracles of God, that have you thinking of the I AM, Jesus my Saviour. Nothing is hard for God. He has never, ever left me; even when I have wanted to walk away from God. We are all facing the most serious trials of our lives, the greatest decisions and challenges. But remember His keeping. We see many miracles in His word, but we can also remember many miracles in our own lives.

There is nothing hard for God. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The word of God will abide forever. He supplies all your need always. Exceeding, abundantly above all you ask or think. Don’t doubt or curl up in self-pity. Please God by believing His word. Always remember the mighty acts of God. Moses the prophet, the word of God to the people, went up into the mountain for forty days and what happened? Without the word of God the people worshipped a golden calf. We need the Word. That’s why Jesus prayed, “Give us this day our daily bread”. Those that love His appearing are going to see Jesus soon. We’ve been shown such great grace.

1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Philippians 1:21  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Philippians 3:11  If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Don’t make that grace an empty thing. When I stop remembering, my hope is going to perish, my soul is going to wane in leanness. It’s not joyous for the moment. But let’s remember all the mighty things, and His constant faithfulness that never ends. Settle down in praise and thanksgiving knowing the faithfulness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He will deliver me out of all my troubles. He has given us the victory! Believe we are more than conquerors; and if He is for us who can be against us. The blood of Jesus covers my home!
