Bible Text: Romans 14:10... |

The Judgment Seat of Christ                        March 4, 2018

Romans 14:10  But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

This is going on right now, not a future time.

2 Corinthians 5:10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

The judgment seat of Christ is to many a mysterious thing, but to us with enlightened eyes of understanding, it is a glorious thing. The judgment seat of Christ and the great white throne judgement are two very different things. Sinners are judged at the white throne and will all be guilty because they denied the blood. The judgment seat of Christ is not judging for sin, that was settled at the cross. The judging is for believer’s rewards. It’s going on right now. Will your life be gold, silver, and precious stone; or wood, hay, and stubble? Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father – the wondrous throne of grace.

Hebrews 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

You fall in love with the Lord through His mercy. Looking at what should have been and seeing what abundance He gave in replacement. We are 24/7 needy.

Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

In the New Testament, who were seeking Jesus? The people who knew they had a need. Thank Him for the infirmities. Everything about your life is structured for you to come boldly to the throne of grace for reward.

Romans 9:23  And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

Salvation with eternal glory. The ones who will be rewarded the most are the ones who will take the most mercy and grace. The cherubim on the mercy seat represent the full overcomers. They look at Him and praise Him for His mercy and love.

Luke 7:47  Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much:

Jude 1:21  Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

‘Judgment seat’ in Greek is bema. The judge of the Olympic games sat on a seat, and gave rewards to the victors. He only judged those that were qualified to compete. You are more than a conqueror. There is no more judging of wrong but are you running well. The first love will finish with a full joy. Stay in love.

Romans 8:33-34  Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.  34.  Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Christ is not judging us of wrong, He is defending us from it.

1 John 3:9  Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Believe the word of God. You are brand new. The only judging is how much will you grow in grace. Jesus wants you to win. Instead of what we all deserve, because of His mercy, He gives you the most abundant life. The greatest love, to the extent of a husband and wife love. He will pour it on to those that love His mercy and grace!
