The Resurrection Power March 20, 2016
1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
So thankful for His blessed assurance – Jesus is mine – what love!
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Not any works in that, just believe and be saved. Believing is only the beginning of the power of the resurrection.
Philippians 3:10-11 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Why do we want to know Him? To attain to the out resurrection, the first trump rapture!
Philippians 3:11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
Not just believe, but to know Him in the power of the resurrection. Know means knowing intimately as a husband knows a wife.
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father to send us the Holy Ghost. Once you are filled with the Spirit you will have power to understand all truth. He will guide you and lead you. The power of the Holy Ghost is to know the love of Christ. The disciples were with Jesus many years but they couldn’t know Him until filled with the Spirit.
John 16:12-13 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:
The greatest thing we could ever know is the love of Christ. The Spirit’s power is love knowledge. When you embrace it now, the evidence is you suffer with Him. He wants you to realize how exceedingly blessed we are. Just yield to God. Neutral you cannot be. There is a perfect order in Philippians 3:10. First you have to believe He was raised from the dead, then partake in His sufferings, then be made conformable unto His death. Man in his ‘goodness’ is completely out of order – they try to go in the opposite order. Man thinks he can be conformable unto God. The only power is what Jesus did on the cross and His resurrection.
Galatians 4:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
We have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ but if we don’t grow up, we remain as a servant even though we have the right to rule.
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
To know Jesus – joint-heirs as husband and wife. That’s the fellowship of His sufferings. He takes me from glory to glory into His very image. Just believe God and grow up. Quit being like children – live what He has given you. Be the sons of God. If you want success in your life you have to apply yourself. We need to apply ourselves to Jesus and His word. Let it live in you. Get serious about hearing the word of God. Be in church. Yield your life to God. The world is falling apart. Why go the way of destruction if you don’t have to? The resurrection power changes you. It wakes you up to see God has given you everything – Jesus! An inheritance reserved in Heaven for you. You’ve heard the word of God, now what are you going to do? Worship Him!
