Bible Text: Isaiah 41:10, Jeremiah 29:11, Galatians 6:9 |

     Don’t Give Up                     April 7, 2019

Isaiah 41:10  Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Galatians 6:9  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

We can be sensitive, very easily hurt, dreams dashed, but the answer is in these verses. It is the good fight of faith, to rise up even when we are discouraged, to not give up.

King David had monumental heartaches and failures, but every time he was discouraged, he said, “I encouraged myself in the Lord” (I Samuel 30:6). He never quit. God’s people can be cruel but we can’t quit. Nothing can be compared to the Lover of our souls. He pursues you. Like David, even if we make our bed in hell He is with you.

Psalm 139:8If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

He never leaves you nor forsakes you. You are His son. He will never stop loving you.

What about when we are despitefully used? Are we happy? If not, we need to hear the Word more. The Word says, “Happy are ye”. You are blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ. Get ready to reign. The Lord wants all His children to grow up fully. When you get discouraged, cry out to God. Ask Him to strengthen you with the love of God. The love of God motivates our lives, His passion for us enables us to love through. Be like Joshua and Caleb, see the promise and not the adversary. We are more than conquerors. Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world, so nothing can come up against you. The victory has already been won. Have faith in the love plan of God. Joseph learned, they meant it for evil but God meant it for good. Doubt and fear is our nature but the Word of God is more powerful. God puts you in situations where all you can say is ‘I can’t’, so that you will be still and watch the mighty hand of God. That’s where you get to know Him and find His strength. The discouragement and ridicule of the brethren didn’t stop Paul. He knew:

2 Corinthians 4:17  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

His expectation was in:

Romans 8:18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

And his heart overflowed with:

Philippians 3:8  Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Is that the stirring on our hearts? What has us captive? Is Jesus, our first love? The most glorious moment of all ages is right on us. The manifestation of the sons of God. Don’t give up! We are so close, and it’s too marvelous to pass up. The glory that will be revealed in you for Him!
