What Will Your Life Be?   April 12, 2015
Will the Lord prevail or has the glory of God departed?
Samson didn’t want God’s choice for his life. He said, “Get me what pleases me.” He was unwilling to yield to God. Samson’s self-will became his complete blindness literally and spiritually. His unwillingness to take the anointing caused him to be in bondage most of his life.
Judges 16:19-20 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him. 20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.
If we continue to go the stubborn way of our flesh the world will devour you. You can’t serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24).
Jacob had a fight against his flesh too, but at this monumental moment in his life, when God put his thigh out of joint, he surrendered. He arose and went to Bethel (the house of God). He said, “Lord, have your way.” It wasn’t that Jacob was better than Samson, the difference was that he broke and surrendered. The moment he said, “Lord it will be your way”, God blessed him.
Genesis 35:9-10 And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him. 10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.
Israel means “God prevails”.
If we go with the fleshly desires, unwilling to submit to God, the anointing of the Lord will depart. The result is a life of loss. You’ll say, “I wish I had.” It will be a life imprisoned by lies, blind to the abundance of life waiting for you all the time. The Father gave His Son for you, so you would have the anointing on your life. So with all of this there is a responsibility, a gift, a reward, and an heir ship that needs to be cherished.
Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
Wake up to what you have been given. Go the way of submission. By the grace of God take what He has given, take the bended knee saying, “Lord have mercy on me”, realizing we can’t but He can. We prevail on our knees. Jesus asked Peter, “Do you love me?” He’s asking you the same question right now. Do we love the Lord enough to yield? Fully surrender; or is it going to be my walk on my terms? Is He the captain of my salvation? Don’t wait for a more convenient time. The enemy will confirm you’re just fine the way you are living. Beware, because the glory and anointing upon your life will depart. Is the Lord your first love? Don’t wait. Let it break your heart and bring a contrite spirit. Say, “I love you Jesus!” God has prevailed.
