Overcoming in the Fiery Trial                      April 23, 2017

1 Peter 1:7  That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Your faith tried with fire. It gets hot believing God. It’s fiery because it has to burn off the impossible to show that nothing is hard for God. This is a precious journey. He proves Himself over and over, even in our unbelief. I’m holy and righteous because of what He has done. I’m brand new!

1 Peter 4:12-14  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:  13.  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.  14.  If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

It’s a whole life of tested faith, but now the fiery trial. He’s all about you being glorified together with Him. The glory is in jointly suffering together with Christ. It’s the glory appearing trial, the crowning jewel of our life. Defining trials God so graciously bestows on His beloved. Often times these trials are for the whole body of believers. The trial can be the overcoming triumph in one life but to another it can wash them away. All trials are for our good. In His faithfulness He afflicts you (Ps 119:75). For it to be a full overcoming trial we need to look to the word of God for our victory. If you go by man’s thoughts you will be defeated.

Mighty men are not swayed by man’s opinion or their own opinions. They leave the judgement with God. They are lovers of the truth.

Noah got drunk and naked. His son Ham looked upon his nakedness; his descendants fought against the people of God. Shem and Japheth instead covered their father. Shem was the great-great grandfather of Abraham.

Twelve spies were sent into the Promised Land. They all saw the giants in the land but only Caleb and Joshua saw God’s faithfulness, the promises of God. They rejoiced in the opportunity that God was going to do the impossible. Those in unbelief died in the wilderness.

Be quick to pray. It’s beyond me. God’s got it. When God’s anointed fails, those that look at the man will be demolished but those that look at God through it, the spirit of the glory of God will rest upon them. When I look at the promises of God in my own strength, I’m going to be defeated. When I look at how I can attain to that, it’s over; but when I call those things that be not as though they were, I begin to soar. Be the one that knows and believes.

1 John 3:2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Why does it say it doth not yet appear? We are sons, but when we look around it doesn’t look that way. But we know, we don’t wonder. Those that see with their own eyes and perceive in their own minds are going to be bitter, judgmental, defeated, and fearful. But when we see the promises of the word of God, when we see Him we will be like Him! Let us fall in love with those promises that are yea and amen!
