Bible Text: Exodus 2:1-10 |

Put Them in the Ark   May 10, 2015

Exodus 2:1-3 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. 2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. 3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.

Jochebed was brought to the place she could hide her child no longer. She put him in the ark. What faith it takes to come to this place. It’s foolishness to the world. Like when Noah built an ark in a desert for a flood in a time when it had never rained before. They laughed at Noah the same as many do today when you put it all in the ark (Jesus). The ark looks weak to the world, even Christians, because they don’t hear the word of God. But nothing can be compared to the high tower, the shield and buckler! Preach the word. Fellowship in the gospel of Christ. Enough milk, we need the strong meat. Hear the deep things of God. Kings search out a matter, their inheritance. God has withheld nothing from you. He has given us His Son. Heirs of God and joint-heirs if we suffer with Him (Romans 8:17).

We are all born princes – lords of all.

Galatians 4:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
All the inheritance is intended for you, to rule and reign with Jesus. We can’t fathom it but let the mind of Christ be in you. To know the will of the Father. Do not remain children, grow up.

The ark needs to be prepared. Bulrushes actually absorb water. The miracle is they float. It doesn’t make sense yet it is true. It’s faith. How much of your salvation do you want to know? Salvation with eternal glory. Glorified together with Christ. We want to know why something is the way it is, the answer is always, God is love! I am His son and He loves me beyond. Just walk by faith.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Once we are born again, what will it be? A life of just surviving, or a life with the anointing poured over it. Like Moses, see Him as a friend.

Psalms 45:7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Do you want the oil of joy, or just a basket? The mark for the prize of the high calling is in our sights.

Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

The reason Jochebed got that beauty for ashes and the oil of joy is she prepared the ark. That pitch and slime covered it and penetrated it. It is known as red oil. The blood and the Spirit. Truth in love. There was a mighty trial facing this mother. When the Lord encourages us to put that anointing oil over the basket, that trying time becomes joyous. This joy oil always delivers beauty from ashes. With Spirit and truth in your life, nothing can take you down. The joy of the Lord is your strength (Neh. 8:10). Noah didn’t try to change the world, he just built the ark. He knew he was just passing through. We are citizens of heaven. You moms have placed your babies in the ark, know that they are

His! Now go on and put more of that precious oil on it, because you want your child to know the Lord face to face, not just as a friend but as a lover!
