Worship Together                 June 10, 2018

Acts 2:1-4  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  2.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  3.  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  4.  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 8:14-17  Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:  15.  Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:  16.  (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)  17.  Then laid they theirhands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:44-46  While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.  45.  And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.  46.  For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.

Acts 19:1-6  . . . Paul. . .finding certain disciples,  2.  He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. . 6.  And when Paul had laid hishands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

We love to see the beautiful patterns of truth in the word of God. The pattern that people are saved and then filled, with the evidence of speaking in tongues. The pattern of gathering and worshipping together. We love one another. To those that will win Him, it is vital to dwell together. Worship comes through the Word. When you receive it, you worship in spirit and truth. What you will enjoy over there is what you are enjoying here. Worship begins with the beauty of the gift of the Holy Ghost. We gather at the altar, not to just pray, but to worship together. Stir up the gift that is in you (2Tim. 1:6). Follow Paul as he followed Christ. The Corinthians didn’t want the meat of the word of God. They were running amuck with the gift of the Holy Ghost, yet Paul said,

1 Corinthians 14:18  I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

He didn’t say, stop speaking in tongues. You need spiritual encouragement. Don’t quench the Spirit in your life. By grace, abiding in the fervent love of the Spirit, lets go on – vessels living the evidence of the Holy Ghost power. Without the Holy Ghost you can’t be in the bride of Christ. Pray to desire to worship the Lord. Make a move. Don’t be stuck in old glories. Lay down those trophies, there’s more. Worshipping together is one of the greatest proofs that we love one another. Don’t be selfish. Let the love of God be shed abroad in our hearts. Walk in the Spirit. Have the boldness to seek out brethren to pray. Desire to receive of the Lord, to have more love in your life. Gather with saints because when you don’t, you grow cold. Yield to God.

Psalms 34:3  O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Paul said, gather the much the more as we see that day approaching. Meetings have grown cold because hearts have grown cold. Make the move from the pew to the altar. Pray always. Being head strong never works. You say your life is about winning Christ. This is the proof. They rest not, they pray. When the Spirit moved, they moved.

Revelation 4:8  And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him;and they werefull of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

You can be like queen Vashti who had it all but lacked the love to be with the people of God. Is this you? He’s called you to be a worshipper.
