Apprehend June 11, 2017
Philippians 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Paul says this approximately thirty years after he met the Lord on the road to Damascus. He knew he was seated in the heavens and that nothing could separate him from the love of God. This is the bridal embrace that Paul is speaking of. Paul knew he had eternal security but that he would apprehend (comprehend). This is the same word in Eph. 3:18
Ephesians 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
That we would comprehend Christ in us as He knows us. To know even as I am known by Him.
1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
Oh what He knows in me. That I should grow up into Him in all things. That I would know that and possess it by faith. Not every person is born of God. It’s by faith in Jesus. It is the very life of Christ that lives in you.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Born of God, I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ (Eph. 1:3). We were not born to be kings, we were born kings.
Galatians 4:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
We must grow up and understand our royalty and inheritance. Without knowing the love of Christ for you, you will never know His wealth for you. All the treasure vault of grace is given to perform that good work in you. We don’t merit or earn it, it’s by grace. The pinnacle of the treasure vault is to give us faith to be confident in grace. That grace will have us ruling and reigning jointly with Him. Not all Christians will have this. His wife hath made herself ready before she gets there by hearing this message. He purposed His life in us not to remain a child, but to grow up to a fully mature son. Your steps are ordered.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
He foreknew that you would believe in the blood of the Lamb.
Ephesians 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
He sees you fully complete. Fully mature sons. Every child of God’s spiritual DNA has the capacity to be a full overcomer. It’s all there but without the knowledge of His vision for you, without the teaching and preaching, you will waste your birthright and miss out on the inheritance. The knowledge of the heart of God has been given, you have it. It’s just about believing what’s been given. That’s why we need to study. So we know who we are in Christ. Take the grace and want to know! Don’t be lazy or complacent for this. Our vocation is the same as Paul’s – to win Him! Everything in my life is to mold and make me to wear that wedding dress, and descend from heaven having the glory of God! Drink from the river now – it flows from the midst of the throne!
