Bible Text: Song of Solomon 1:2 |

Lover Faith and Fighter Faith         June 12, 2016

Song of Solomon 1:2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
The meaning here is the kiss of the lover which the Lord desires toward us.
Worship = to draw nigh in fervent love to kiss. That is the passion of this verse. The passion of a husband and wife, far more than a friendly kiss. This is the intimacy of the knowledge of the love of God. Kiss also means to equip with weapons to fight.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
That is every thing, nothing can stand against the Word of God. There are two sides of the bridal lover, a lover and a fighter.
2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
The finisher of the race is the one that loves His appearing and the exalted rank of righteousness crown. Kept the faith means to love and cherish it. The finisher also has fought a good fight of faith.
The lover faith and the fighter faith must be fully matured in our lives. Both are such a necessity. The Holy Ghost takes all the things of Christ and shows them to us, and sheds the love of God abroad in our hearts. Have an ear to hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The lover faith is only found in Paul’s gospel. The gospel of Jesus Christ and His bride. Nothing satisfies her but the strong meat of the word of God. His love letters to us. This is a rare thing to hear.
Lover faith wants to hear the love story over and over. Fighter faith believes that nothing is hard for God, and is confident in His word, that He will do it. These two work together, the more lover faith, the more willing to fight. The more fighter faith and victory the more you will fall in love. Grace for grace, He has given us all grace and all sufficiency.
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Fight the good fight of faith. These two sides must be fully grown to win Him.
King David was a lover but his fight of faith lapsed at times. He feared Saul.
Timothy became fearful when he heard of Paul’s sufferings.
Elijah after all those victories feared Jezebel.
Most of us here today do not waver in the bridal message but in afflictions.
Glory in your infirmities. Without them there is no thought of Jesus. Believe you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Built for one thing; you are made to the praise of the glory of His grace. Without Him I can do nothing. When I am stripped of me all I see is Jesus.
On the other side – the centurion had great faith (Matthew 8:8-10).
Samson knew the Lord would deliver him but he never fell in love with the truth.
Solomon never doubted God in His omnipotence but the Lord was never his first love.
Where are we today? Are we just one or the other and not both? Just realize the need. Ask Jesus for more grace. Rest and wait and know He will bring it to pass. Let me yield. What a precious wife I will be to Him, to have that double portion worked in my life. Nothing is too hard for God. Why not believe Him today! Walk in that victory. We live by the faith of the Son of God. The faith, the power, the life that lives in you – walk and finish with a full joy!
