Make it Your Own June 16, 2019
We’ve been encouraged in our inheritance. You’ve got to know it and describe it and go after it like Caleb. His daughter saw it too. She saw what her dad had and wanted more. Mark them that have a love and passion and joy for the Lord.
Joshua 15:13-19 And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, … 16 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife. 17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife. 18 And it came to pass, as she came unto him,that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off herass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou? 19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.
She wanted more. She asked for double but was given more than double. God always does exceedingly abundant. She had the land but wanted water, the upper springs, but she also got the nether springs. Nether = “hidden waters”. We read about a hidden mystery.
Colossians 1:25-27 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26 Eventhe mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what isthe riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
This is the heights, the depths and everything in between. Let’s be filled with all the fulness of God. Jesus! The Word, Alpha and Omega, the all and all. Nothing is hard for God. Let Him work. Caleb was waiting for his daughter to ask, and our Father is waiting for us to ask. He has endless treasure. She didn’t ask for it until she was married to Othniel = “the lion of God”. The wife hath made herself ready. She married the lion of God and got it all and more than she asked. This isn’t hidden any more. It was a mystery but now is made known to His saints. Jesus wants to marry you to give you everything. The Holy Ghost shows it to you. Quit wrestling; believe God and go. You need to make it your own. He gave it all up to have you, don’t you think we could respond?
In Joshua 15:18 lighted off = “to descend, brought low”. It’s all grace. When you see the bridal message you descend, and in that place God can’t help but give you everything. Receive Paul’s gospel. Never stop learning. Never stop describing it in more detail. Fall in love with the much the more. When you stop learning – it is done, when you stop hearing - it is over. Don’t stay in the past. Be where God has taken us today. There is more land, you’re hearing the word of His grace. Stay with Paul’s gospel. Gather more with those that love his gospel, and grow more and more in the knowledge of the gospel.
I Corinthians 11:1Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
Follow Paul as he followed Christ. This daughter panted after it. She marked her dad. She inherited above all the others. The Father is seeking those who worship Him in spirit and truth. The ones that embrace like a bride and groom. The ones that take grace and believe it and receive it. By the grace of God, why not you? By grace, let it be us. We don’t want to miss this!
