Know the Ways of God June 25, 2017
Deuteronomy 13:1-3 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, 2. And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; 3. Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
1 Corinthians 3:13-15 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
This is not a maybe for our lives. The furnace, the fire is the way the Lord does it. The purifying and glorifying of our faith. The silversmith knows when the silver is purified when he can see himself perfectly in it.
Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Not only will we not be consumed, the flame will not be upon us.
Isaiah 1:25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:
This flame is to purge away the dross so that all that is left is gold, silver, and precious stone. The flame is His hand, and nothing touches us but His hand. It is what purges the dross and He does it perfectly. We can get proud with what we know if the Lord didn’t put thorns in our life. Without tests we may drift away from the things of God. He is faithful and we can praise Him for His perfecting. Praise the Lord!
Psalms 66:12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.
We know the truth. How much do we love and trust the Lord? The evidence of love is how much you trust. Many of God’s people refuse the chastening of the Lord because it is too intense. God has a lofty vision for you. It comes by test after test. The trial of your faith. Faith pleases God and it comes by hearing the Word. God does not give us things to defeat us but to launch us out, and grow us up. God’s abounding mercy will always be magnified. Lay hold of the grace. Stand on the promises of God. You need the deep word of God. If we know the ways of God (the gospel), we wait on the mighty hand of God for deliverance. If you only know the acts of God, you’ll never know the value of the treasure, the riches of waiting on the Lord. In due time, He will deliver. Think about the age we live in. We need to see the heights of Paul’s gospel.
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
If we don’t know this, we don’t know the ways of God. The ‘too much’ isn’t the suffering, the ‘too much’ is being able to rule and reign with Him! It’s so beyond suffering it’s not worthy to be compared. Paul was given this dispensation, the mystery made known. We walk by faith. Get the vision for your life. The enemy is trying to defeat us with ease, slumber, technology to distract you. It’s time to wake up, His coming is on the wing! Get ready for what God said is going to happen. God works through the infilling of the power of the Holy Ghost. The ‘too much’ is not the suffering, the ‘too much’ is the glory.
Romans 8:17 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us
This temporal stuff is not to be compared. It’s got to be the strong meat of the word, we are in the exceeding great and precious promises time, the better thing time. Exalted to the same glory! I’m in!
