Desire the Holy Ghost July 28, 2019
Matthew 25:1-10 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and fivewerefoolish. 3 They thatwerefoolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying,Not so;lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
There is but one way into all of God’s exceeding promises. These represent the 144,000. They are the guests at the wedding. There are different companies in heaven. In John 3:29 we read of the friends of the Bridegroom, which are the Old Testament worthies of faith – the cloud of witnesses. They all gather to see the Bridegroom’s glory – the Lamb’s wife. This shows that not all the church is the bride. He will make known to all that He has loved her.
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him,that we may be also glorified together.
You have a vessel and lamp and there’s a goal. Their purpose was to be guests at the wedding. We have a different goal – the mark for the prize of the high calling. To obtain the goal you have to have the oil – the power of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost will light you up. A freight train is powerful, it’s put on a track for an exact purpose and an exact time. Jesus has placed us on a fore ordained path – the glory in the midst of the throne with Him. You can be on this track, but without the oil (the fuel) you won’t finish and get to the place you were built for and intended to be. What a shame to know this and let it go by.
John 16:12-13 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear,thatshall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
John 14:17 Eventhe Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Once you are filled with the Holy Ghost you have the power of understanding and knowledge; and love shed abroad in your heart. Call on Him today. You won’t receive Him unless you seek Him. The disciples tarried at Pentecost to receive the Holy Ghost because they wanted to know the truth. The evidence of being filled with the Holy Ghost is speaking in tongues, and with that you’ll never wonder whether you were filled or not. Without the oil you won’t attain to what you are made to be. You’ll need a tear wiped from your eye (Rev. 21:4). Don’t finish this life with “I wish I had". Desire it and remain fullof the Holy Ghost. It’s not just an experience. They were filled and then Paul came with the message of the mystery of Christ. It was the perfect order to understand. Enter into gladness and thanksgiving and take it now. Don’t wait! Get full of the Holy Ghost now!
