Let Brotherly Love Continue September 3, 2017
Proverbs 17:17 A friend loveth at all times,
In Jesus we have a friend that sticks closer than a brother, but this verse is speaking of brethren – a companion, fellow citizen. It calls us to love at all times. The love of some brethren is waxing cold due to the cares of this world, the plights of men, politics, etc. It is causing ones to withdraw from Godly love. When you leave the first love, you remove yourself from the church of Philadelphia. The accuser of the brethren is Satan. Why would we accuse one another? God help us not to devour one another.
Galatians 5:13-15 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
Internal strife in a meeting is deadly. It happens when brethren are self-seeking, when they compare themselves among others, waiting to judge. That doesn’t belong in any grace meeting. We are battling spiritual wickedness in high places. Endure hardness as a good soldier. We need to have that vision for our life – that He’s pressing us out of measure but it’s for Him. We are becoming that glory for Him. Receive the grace and mercy. Internal strife causes us to drift apart from grace. Those roots of bitterness have got to go; they are not worth missing God’s best for. We are in a time when those ready will fly away with Him. It’s time to fight harder. Be that pillar in the house of the Lord – be not moved. The word of God is sharper than any two edged sword saying, “Do you love Me?”
True brethren are Philadelphia brethren. Brotherly love that loves at all times.
Galatians 6:1 … ye which are spiritual, restore
You don’t have to get right first, come as you are. Maybe you feel guilt or shame but there is a love that brought you here today. Love is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. Let us love one another perfectly. Stand with Him and we will stand together.
David had many men around him but some were cowards. The sons of God are not cowards. Stand for the word of the Lord wherever you are called to stand. David’s mighty men stood with him. We are in a battle to win Christ. The cherubim’s wings touch over the mercy seat. He’s called us to be those full overcomers. This meeting is too precious to let the little foxes spoil the vine. Don’t let camels in the tent. Be spiritual. The backbiting has got to stop, we are the family of God. Care for your brothers and sisters, love them. Quit examining one another, examine yourself. Look to the true, lovely, and good report that is all over. Look up, see Him. Stay in grace. The cares of the world will rob your life. The only thing that will be in heaven is of Him.
Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.
Love one another. Those that will be found in that perfect love will rule and reign together. He wants us to win, don’t back away. Get hinds feet and walk on. Let’s win Him!
