What Will He Work for Me Today? September 24, 2017
Jonathan was a glory of the Lord seeker. The glory of God is seen in our weakness. He had confidence in the grace of God. He knew the grace of God was with him and for him. Grace is with you always (2 Corinthians 9:8). It’s right there when we fail, when we’re unbelieving. It’s also there when we’re abounding to help us not get puffed up. Grace never leaves. I want to be like Jonathan, and get out of bed every day and ask God what He will work for me today. Faith in God and His grace that is with me and for me.
1 Samuel 14:6-7 And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few. 7. And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.
Jonathan had no confidence in man, he wanted the armor bearer. The whole armor of God and the power to use it. The armor bearer represents the Holy Ghost. He tells us to do all that is in our heart. The Heart = the inner man, the new man, Christ that lives in me. As sons of God we have all of heaven’s power for us. Do we believe that God is completely for us? When we do then we are truly living all the fullness of God, and we begin to know the love of Christ that is so for us. That power is waiting, fully prepared – flip the switch!
Turn thee = spread out (your wings). Soar! The only reason we are not flying is because we don’t have confidence in the power of His grace. Let there be no limit in my heart what He will do for me! It’s not because I’m good or faithful, it’s because He loves me. There is a balm in Gilead; for any need, a healing, marriage, children, etc. Lord, what will you work for me today? Have faith in Him today, don’t put it off. We need to have our inner man to grow up into Him in all things – we need to know the word, His promises, our inheritance, that it’s all been given. He wants me to be glorified together with Him. Go on to God’s best, don’t settle for good. It’s all by faith. We need to live it right now, knowing He gave the grace for us to win Him! We can know and believe that God will give us a double portion. We have to know what our inheritance is. Christ is living in me.
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
The Holy Ghost will equip us with everything we need to win Christ. You were born a king, now grow up in it. Get out of the temporal stuff. We need a quickening. The winds of doctrine have to go (Heb. 13:9). He’s coming, and those in love with Him will be ready to go. Believe the word of God, not man’s doctrine. That faith is for today. What will He work in me today? He’s given you every single thing! Praise the Lord!
