The Lord Directs our Steps                   October 7, 2018

Proverbs 16:9  A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Matthew 16:24  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If anymanwill come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

The life of the cross is the life of God’s plan. God directing my steps. God orders something that changes the course of our lives. Traumatic events moving you to a whole new direction in your life.

1 Peter 4:12  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

God will do anything to change the course of your life because He loves you. Joseph is an example; his own brothers betrayed him, and he ended up a slave. God may take something away but He will always add more to your life.

When Jesus was crucified the disciples were distraught but God gave them a risen Saviour. Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father so we could have the Holy Ghost. He does this for everyone of us. Some will respond in these life changing events with faith and some will let it pass by. We can have a heart like Lot who, when faced with traumatic events, turned back in unbelief, and went back to his old ways. God forbid that would be us! God has given us such evidence that He is in control. With the incredible revelation given to Paul, God sent the messenger of Satan to buffet him. The things the enemy thinks would destroy us, God uses to give us more. The monumental life changes are allowed by God to keep us on track, to direct our steps, all by His grace. To be men and women after God’s own heart.

God is faithful to you. He’s promised He will never leave nor forsake you.

Psalms 37:25  I have been young, and nowam old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Why would He speak so much of His mercy if you could be faithful? What has drawn you here today? Is it the love and mercy of God or your faithfulness? There is no glory but in the beauty of the blood of the Lamb.

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to hispurpose.

All things! Believe God. In this verse it is divine love. Joint-heirs, glorified together, manifestation of the sons of God, first love. His love is so powerful to those that dwell in that first love.

Proverbs 31:29  Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

Not because of what you’ve done but because of what you’ve taken. Take what the Holy Ghost says to and you will come before the King and ravish Him. How all together working is this? We dwell in tidal waves of mercy. Heights of grace beyond the universe. Not only has He shaken the earth but heaven is shaking. So isn’t it time to quit just dipping your toe in and out? Be all in, there is no other place to be!

Job 42:5  I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
