Bible Text: Colossians 2:4-10 |

Walk in Him                         October 8, 2017

Colossians 2:4-10 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

It’s all in Him. There is nowhere else to find rest. We are only complete in Him. Walk in Him, rooted and established in Him. As we stay with the stuff, standing for Him. Built up as a masterpiece for Him. New Jerusalem. The Lamb’s wife is being built now!

Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

The key to finishing with a full joy is the word of His grace. It is now, pay attention. The word of the Lord is everything. May we stand in the heights of the gospel as we’ve been taught. Philadelphia saints, made and finished as a pillar in the house of the Lord. Run for the mark of the prize!

Do you really believe in His grace? The all-powerful faith in His grace transforms us from glory to glory. In our selves we come up short.

We don’t suffer as a sinner (we are free indeed). Instead we glory in our infirmities.

Philippians 2:12 work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Encourage yourself in the Lord. The enemy just wants you to feel shame and be consumed in guilt, but be confident in God. Our down settings may haunt us but they are beautiful to Him because they cause us to go in in full assurance to Him.

Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

We are lively stones being cut now. The word cuts and it can be painful, but it is transforming. Vessels to the praise of the glory of His grace (Eph. 1:6). Cut perfectly to fit the wedding gown.

Now is the time to stand in what we’ve been taught.

Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

Nothing of us will be over there. Everything we have will be like Him, so operate as a son of God now, live and feed that life.

Ecclesiastes 12:12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

Literally this means to give you a headache, because it offers no solution. But it is simple, it’s all answered in the Word->Jesus! Let your ear hear what the Spirit saith. Know the word of God. Don’t be ever learning and never coming to the knowledge of the truth (2Tim. 3:7). Like Solomon, you could only say it’s all vanity, empty of empty, I missed it. We need to pay attention. Don’t try to live for the traditions of men to fill something in your flesh. Live by faith. Get more of the word of God. His word tells us how much He loves us and wants to see us. I want to know His heart. Anything that gets in between your soul and your Savior happens when you take your eyes off the cross. Champions cherish the battle. Will you stay in first love with Jesus? Stand in the things of God. Walk in bold steps. Stand in our homes. Fight the good fight of faith. Lay aside every weight and soar like an eagle. As ye have received Jesus – walk in Him!
