Bible Text: Psalm 34:18 |

Remain as Dust        October 18, 2015

Psalms 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Contrite = “as dust”
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Realize how great blessings we are blessed with, especially blessed when we are this dust. When we are brought to a place of complete weakness. This is the place where only the beauty of the majesty of Christ exists. Nothing but the power of Christ resting upon us. In this place He reveals the manifold visions of His love (keeper, healer, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords). He aligns everything. He brings about miracles that are just as magnificent as the parting of the Red Sea. The greatest is the change He makes in us – the revelation of high calling living. It is remaining in the brokenness, and walking in all lowliness, not just when in trials.
Ephesians 4:1-2a I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, 2 With all lowliness and meekness,
The vocation is pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ (Phil. 3:14). Fellowship comes in trials when we are completely broken before God; the brokenness that is in His faithfulness. Examples: Gideon’s pitchers broken and light shined, five loaves broken to feed five thousand, the alabaster box broken and the fragrance filled the house. Divine grace floods our hearts in these times of brokenness. The beauty of Him only found in our complete weakness. The grace of God that can only be known in the ash heap. Don’t let me forget this or leave this beautiful place of being broken. This is the most holy place, set apart to Him. Paul said, “I glory in my infirmities”.
2Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Remain in the fullness of glory even after the way of escape has been made. Don’t let it just be a moment but let it be my sustaining glory. The Lord has put this calling on our lives – to hear Paul’s gospel. Ones that are dust before Him. Set apart from the camp. The bride of Christ is a full overcomer because she relies completely on His strength. May His life only be manifest in us. In His plan He performs it through trials and temptations; but be a readied wife even when you are delivered. Remain as the dust. It is the greatest joy to remain in lowliness, expecting only from Christ to have His eternal best. Knowing it is His great love perfecting me. The bride is the one that remains in a broken heart and a contrite spirit; with thanksgiving and praise that is only for Him.
