 Love the Body                             October 21, 2018

Colossians 1:16-19  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they bethrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:  17.  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.  18.  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all thingshe might have the preeminence.  19.  For it pleased the Fatherthat in him should all fulness dwell;

Ephesians 1:22-23  And hath put all thingsunder his feet, and gave him to bethe head over all thingsto the church,  23.  Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

The fullness of the Lord – His body. We should cherish one another. He is the Head and we are the body. Just like our natural body, without the head we can’t do anything. Our head, Jesus, keeps us, leads, protects and encourages us. Specially, how He loves the body.

Ephesians 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

He gave Himself. That’s how He loves the body. He gave everything He has; His heart, passion, life. He became sin for us. He passed that love on to us to love Him and to love one another.

John 17:26  And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declareit:that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

John 13:34-35  A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35.  By this shall allmenknow that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

We fulfill the law by loving one another. Not our love – His love.

Mark 15:43  Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.

Joseph = “let him add”, Arimathaea = “the heights”. ‘Craved’ is more than ‘ask’, its desire. Not only do we desire fellowship, we require it. We are seated together with Him in the heavens. We see each other as vessels of mercy. The fellowship God gives us is of the cherubim – their wings touched.

In Luke 7, Mary anointed the feet of Jesus, she couldn’t stop touching Him. In Mark 16, Jesus appeared to her first. Paul’s rejoicing was the saints who loved the truth. If you are truly going to have God’s best you will have this love. The greatest love is the love for a spouse, the one you share everything with. Paul had a burning love to be in fellowship. We should cherish one another. Paul implored them to love in his letters.

1 Thessalonians 3:12  And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward allmen,even as we dotoward you:

Ephesians 4:15-16  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, evenChrist:  16.  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

We are one. The body is spiritually built up by being in love.

Song of Solomon 7:1-4a  How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter! the joints of thy thighs arelike jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.  2.  Thy navel is likea round goblet, whichwanteth not liquor: thy belly is likean heap of wheat set about with lilies.  3.  Thy two breasts arelike two young roes that aretwins.  4.  Thy neck isas a tower of ivory;

He is overwhelmed with her body. Should not we love the same as He does? You can know the whole counsel of God but just go through the motions, not desiring the fellowship. Without this love the fire goes out in a meeting. If you really love the Lord, you really love one another. Be spiritual and encourage.

Hebrews 10:24-25  And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:  25.  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;but exhorting one another:and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

This is evidence of the bride. Be honest, is this you, and in you? The grace has been given. Avail yourself to love, gather, and fellowship. Nothing is more valuable or worth your time. Keep abiding, don’t grow cold. Come worship and praise Him together. Let’s settle down and love one another.
