Bible Text: Matthew 2:1-12 |

The Kings See the Glory                       December 16, 2018

Matthew 2:1-12  Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,  2  Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.  3  When Herod the king had heard these things,he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.  4  And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.  5  And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,  6  And thou Bethlehem, inthe land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.  7  Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.  8  And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him,bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.  9  When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.  10  When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.  11  And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.  12  And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Bridal truth in the birth of Jesus. The wise men (Magi) = seers, ones with a vision. To get anywhere with God, we must have a vision. Herod got the priests and scribes together and they could read the scriptures but without grace through faith they could not see a thing. With faith the wise men saw the star. This speaks of glory. Think of what we see now through the Holy Ghost. We’ve been given enlightened eyes of understanding (Eph. 1:18). To see the deep things of God. The word of God is opened up to us by the Holy Ghost.

John 16:12-13a  I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:

These magi were fully grown kings. If we grow up, God gives us a vision, and like them, a vision that few ever see. That star was glory for that day. Only the mature kings saw it. It is the same today, you have to grow up and be a mature king.

Galatians 4:1  Now I say, Thatthe heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

For these kings it was their treasure, and they did everything to get there. To see bridal truth, you must grow up in the hope of glory. Through Paul’s gospel we see all the hidden mysteries of the riches of His grace. Know your birthright. What we were born to is all over the word of God. We need to be like these kings and see this sun glory. The word of God is glory all over. We are blessed beyond. Take it all, give your life over to it. Hear it over and over. Be amongst people that love it – cherubim wings touching. The kings desire to be the glory (Revelation 21:10-11).

This vision was given to these kings so they would worship. Mature kings worship. They honor their place in the body more than anything. We are being drawn, not to worship Christ the child, but Christ the bridegroom. We are in trying times, but in Christ we are growing up. When we draw nigh in fervent love to worship Him, at the end of the journey is full glory! You’ll apprehend Him. Press on kings! Press on true worshippers!
