Bible Text: Luke 2:25-30 |

Embrace the Bridegroom                December 23, 2018

Luke 2:25-30  And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name wasSimeon; and the same man wasjust and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.  26  And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.  27  And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,  28  Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,  29  Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:  30  For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

Simeon lived for this moment – the appearing of the Lord. All by the Spirit. He didn’t just look at the child, he took him up in his arms. He embraced him. We’ve got a better thing. Many had heard the word of God but they had forgotten and became indifferent. He that shall come, will come – be ready. Those that have faith are rewarded. We can be caught up together with the Lord in the air! Simeon received that prophesy by Isaiah, we receive it through the Apostle Paul. High calling = embrace. Salvation with eternal glory. Embrace the Bridegroom. What you expect in the word of God is what you will receive. How about believe the whole counsel of God. Those in Hebrews 11 all attained by faith. He is faithful, He wants you to know Him, how much He loves you.

John 15:7  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

I want to hear those words. When those words abide in you there is only one will you want, His will. Mary said, “be it done unto me according to thy word” – represents mercy. Shepherds – represent fully purposed. Wise men – represent true worshippers. Simeon – represents “if by any means I might attain”. Every one of them received the promise. With what we’ve been given, we should be far more passionate. What you are living for in this word is what you will receive. I am a vessel of mercy that He bestows the riches of His glory upon. Just love His appearing. There are a multitude of heirs of God. But those who receive the whole counsel of God will be glorified together with Him.

Joshua 1:3  Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

What if Joshua said, “I’ve got enough”? What a shame. He said, “there is more land to walk through”. What awaits us by faith - there is nothing to be compared. All He wants you to do is take what He’s given – the whole counsel of God. Know it, believe it, and take it for your own. There is a Bridegroom waiting for an embrace, and just like Simeon all you have to do is believe. He’s not just coming, He’s coming for us!
