Bible Text: Hebrews 2:9 |

Humility, Faith, Grace and Glory                 December 24, 2017

Hebrews 2:9  But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

How incredible is our lowly Jesus. He came to save us. Oh the handiwork of our God in creation but Jesus was made the worm on the cross, made sin for you. He left the throne and became the lowest. Trying to be humble in yourself is disgusting. You become humble before God when you find grace when you were bad or wrong. We rejoice in His love. He came to encourage you, and He took all your shame, so that all that remains is Christ living in us.

Isaiah 57:15  For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Only God can make you contrite and humble. Which means knowing how mighty God is.

1 Timothy 1:15-16  This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.  16.  Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Paul was shown this great mercy as the chief of sinners to be a pattern for us. No flesh will be justified by the works of the law. You are justified by faith. It’s impossible to please God without faith. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Hear the word of God. Religions give you a list of things to do. All He‘s asked you is to give Him your time. He just wants to talk. He loves hearing you come boldly to the throne of grace. He adores those that know He saved them, and that they need Him. I need Him more and more for everything.

Psalms 86:13  For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

Jesus did not come to save good people. Some may think they are too wicked but Paul said he was the chief of sinners. Magnify the grace of God. He so loves us. The things the Lord has changed in my life are not because of fear, but His love. I don’t change myself, Jesus changes me. He increases and we decrease. You can’t get sediment out of a wine skin with your hands. You have to keep pouring the wine in and you’ll be amazed what comes out. You got saved because you know you need a Saviour. To overcome anything, I need to know I am weak and He is strong. To know God heals all my diseases. You are not your own, you’re His. Your citizenship is in heaven. You will not be satisfied without Jesus. You are vessels prepared afore for His grace. He’s never going to leave you alone. His wings are under you always.

That wonderful salvation is just the beginning.

Ephesians 3:8  Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Paul gloried in his infirmities. He didn’t leave lowliness, he just kept praising God. We’ll have issues, but it’s not the Lord tripping you up – He is lifting you up, so He can bring mercy over and over – a pattern of grace. Rejoice in His mercy and grace. He’s changing me from glory to glory. From salvation for the chief of sinners to the unsearchable riches of Christ for the less than the least. He never changes.

2 Corinthians 8:9  For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

We know we’re the less of the least in our hearts, we know His grace (it can’t be denied).

The bride is a masterpiece of the grace of God. Fall on His grace, let it penetrate your life. Praise Him for His lowly birth. Thank you Lord for loving me!
