Bible Text: Habakkuk 2:2-3 |

Believe and Wait                           November 6, 2016

Habakkuk 2:2-3  And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.  3  For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

2 Peter 3:8-9  But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Hebrews 10:37  For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

Jesus is coming! He’s not going to tarry!

Hebrews 9:28  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

We are waiting and expecting an exalted rank of righteousness crown. For us that are loving His appearing, an active, alive, agape, first love. Those that believe and wait on His promises are never disappointed. They are happy saints, miserable ones aren’t believing. There is a joy and peace in believing God.

How can we not worship Him with what we know? (Worship = “drawing nigh in fervent love to kiss”). Count it all joy. Draw nigh in full assurance of faith (Hebrews 10:22).

James 1:2  My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Abraham waited and got Isaac. Joseph waited and his dreams came true. Job waited and received a double portion. Simeon waited and he saw God’s salvation. We’re waiting to see our Bridegroom in the air! His promises are yea and amen. Not slack means His timing is perfect. There is more to gain and grow. He is coming. The first trump is for those that are alive to the promise in the word of God. Rise up, my love, my fair one and come away (SOS 2:10). When we are not paying attention to the scriptures or are asleep we will miss this. How can we neglect so great salvation? Do you think you have more important things than the call of the archangel? (1Thes. 4:16) When you don’t heed the promises of God there will be misery. Solomon missed what his father David laid hold of. Vashti didn’t feel like it and her crown was taken. That’s unbelief (unnecessary sorrow). Lot chose with his eyes and went to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (a type of the tribulation) but Abraham enjoyed the promises of God. If you go into the tribulation it’s because you chose to ignore what was offered. We are not appointed to wrath (1Thes. 5:9). He finished it! Enter in, sit down, be still and watch His mighty hand.

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Those that believe and are watching are going to be caught up into glory. When Christ, who is our life shall appear, we are going to appear with Him in glory (Col. 3:4).

Look up! Our salvation is near. Believe Him! Thank Him for the time you are in.

Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
