Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
How many times has this encouraged us? I am weak, He is strong; I need this. All things. He says, “I have these all things ordered for you, appointed for you”. Divinely arranged for you to have His best. It’s the entire masterpiece. Have you ever been beat up by one thing? It may be good or bad, but when that one thing becomes all you are focused on, it’s a problem. If you stay there it is going to defeat you. Let Him get you to see all things. When you see all things in the light of Christ you will be joyful; seeing He has it. The big picture that all things work together for my good. Believe the word of God. The problem with one thing is we think we can handle it. His burden is light and His yoke is easy.
Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
You can get so focused on one brush stroke that you miss the whole picture. One thing can be our obsession and we miss what it’s all about. Each brush stroke is important but it is His work. It happens to passionate people, they lose sight of what it’s really all about. You can’t see the forest because you are stuck on one tree. We can’t move on if we’re stuck on one trial, one concern, one mission. It can be a loved one. We can drift off in blind passion.
One plants, one waters, but God gives the increase.
1Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
We can’t do a thing, it has to be the Lord. Don’t leave your first love. God is not restricted by the things that govern us. His ways are not our ways. Christ lives in you. Don’t be all bent out of shape over one thing. All things don’t just work individually, they work together. If we focus on one thing we wonder how it could work together for our good. Don’t rely on your wisdom. The way man devises is the way of death. God is for me. That’s the confidence you have in all things. You can get lost in the details so quickly you stop living by faith. He will perform the good work He has begun.
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Quit caring about what you know and care about what He does. People that are passionate and capable have a problem with this, they miss faith. He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think. If we insist on going our way He will send leanness into your soul. Start living like Abraham, just go with God. Bottom line – see the big picture. Get out of your mind. Quit thinking this is the way it has to be, you’ll never rest. Cease from your own works and enter into His rest – His Son. We are His workmanship. He has before ordained all things we should walk in. He has every minute detail in our lives. He takes each one by faith and constructs His finished work of grace. It’s all for His divine purpose for the wonder of His exceeding riches in grace that He has in store for us.
