Where Love took Jesus to take You      April 5, 2015
John 18:12 Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
It was love that sold our Lord for thirty pieces of silver. It was love that gave Him as the full debt and ransom paid. That we would be made free.
John 19:1-3 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. 2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, 3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
It wasn’t man that brought Jesus to this place, it was love. He was crowned in thorns so we could be crowned in glory. He was condemned and took all sin so that we would know there is no condemnation.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.
He nailed the law to the cross for you.
Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Love took Him to the place where His Father turned from Him so that He could take us to the place we will never be alone. Nothing shall separate us from the love of God.
Mark 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
He was taken to a place where He was completely forsaken so we would know He will never leave or forsake us (Heb 13:5). Love made Him sin for us to make us free from it. He died so that whosoever believed in Him would never die. Love was just getting started – Jesus didn’t stay in the grave. He is risen!
1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Love took Him to heaven to give us a lively hope. My inheritance is waiting for me. What are you hoping for today? Have an abounding hope. Not if it’s going to happen, but when. Jesus is coming again. Look for Him as a bride waiting for her bridegroom. We shall meet Him in the air.
John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Love took Him to heaven so He could send us the Holy Spirit – to send us all truth.
He is waiting at the Father’s right hand for His wife to share the throne with Him.
Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Oh that love wherewith we are loved! Step out in faith. Follow after truth.
The only thing that’s going to survive is the word of His grace working in us.
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
He’s waiting for you. You are the joy set before Him. He wants to be your first love – say I will go!
