Bible Text: Psalm 12:6-7 |

He Protected His Truth For Us         May 1, 2016

We are thankful for the Word of God, and however Christ is preached – but most thankful that we can go on to all the perfect and complete will of God.
Why do we have such an affection for the King James Version of the bible?
In 70 AD the word of God was completed.  These 66 books were transcribed by hand until the 1400’s.  In about 200 AD the Old Testament Hebrew was translated to Greek in two different places; Alexandria and Antioch.  The transcribing of the Alexandria version changed each time.  In 700 AD the Catholic church chose that version to translate to Latin and it became the Vulgate text.  In Antioch, the majority of text was translated there, and there were no changes in 5000 transcriptions.  This is what was used for the first English bible, which was in 1500, the Tyndale bible. The King James Bible was published in 1611.  The Alexandria version surfaced again in the 1800’s and is the one the other versions (NIV, Living, New American Standard, etc) are translated from.  How faithful is our God!  He protected His Word.  This is why we have such an affection for the King James Version:
Psalms 12:6-7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
Psalms 100:5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Throughout history people have tried to destroy the word of God but they cannot.
The Word of God endures forever!
1 Peter 1:23-25 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
God will not forsake to give us the whole counsel of God. If you truly desire to know the truth He will give you truth. You can see bridal truth in the Old Testament; Genesis 24 and The Song of Solomon and many other places. The mystery of Christ Jesus and the church – Jesus and His bride. Many know this but want to hide it. I’m thankful to know that mystery, by His grace. That the whole church is not the bride but a rib portion. The bottom line – it is virtually impossible to see bridal truth without the texts from Antioch. God’s word is true. Let you heart leap for the faithfulness of God.
Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Never sit back, encourage yourself in the word of God more and more. Stay with the stuff. You’ll be glad you did. Mark those that have been most joyous and note what they read and studied – His Word – The King James Version. They followed Paul as he followed Christ. There is not a better way!
