Bible Text: John 21:3-6... |

Cast Your Net on the Right Side                May 12, 2019

John 21:3-6  Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.  4  But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.  5  Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat?They answered him, No.  6  And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find.They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

Are you limiting your life? Thinking you have to have it a certain way; always having an excuse to fish on the side of the boat that is empty? God has so much more if you let Him. God’s choice always brings abundance. His choice for us is the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus. Without God’s choice for everything in your life, your net is going to be empty. Often God’s choice is something you’ve never tried or thought of, but it’s usually right under your nose. The fish were right there, but the only way they got them is they had to hear Him. There is no way to His promise without the word of God. He’s calling to you right now. Cast your net on the right side. The word of God is waiting for you. Everything is prepared. Quit trying to fix the mess, just go to your Father. If it’s not His choice it leads to destruction. For example:

Lot chose with his eyes and it cost him his family, he wasted his life.

Naomi and her family lived in Bethlehem (the house of bread). During a famine they went to Moab. She went out full but came back empty.

On the other hand, Abraham had simple faith, he did not know where God was leading him but he knew God’s promise and he went after it.

God will give, and God will take away, but go after the exceeding great and precious promises and He will take care of it.

Right side = a covenant, a promise. He will perform the good work He has begun (Phil. 1:6). Cast your life on the right side. The left is the side without. That’s man’s thoughts and man’s ways. Don’t compromise the truth. If it’s even one step away from bridal truth it’s the worst mistake of your life. We’ve come too far to quit. Dig the ditches, He will bring the rain.

It’s not easy here but this is not your home. God is going to take you to the end of yourself, to show you where it begins. It’s going to be faith that it might be grace.

Romans 4:16Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace;

This life ain’t always going to look right. That’s when faith comes in. Cast on the right side and abundance will come in. The right side is the highest rank. Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father. The queen always sits on the right side of the king.

Psalms 16:11  Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence isfulness of joy; at thy right hand there arepleasures for evermore.

He has put us in a body of water and we have an abundance of fish; high calling ‘fish’. Cast on the right side, Paul’s gospel side, the rib portion side. If you don’t fish today, you will miss it! There is no greater time – yield!
