Bible Text: John 15:7 |

Let the Word of God Abide in You        June 5, 2016

John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
How great a love wherewith we are loved. His thoughts toward us are more abundant than the sand. This encourages us about what the words of God will provide in your life, what they will do. If they abide in you, it shall be done unto you! How could God do this? Because it’s His word. God is so confident in His Word – His Son. If we let His word abide in us, every request will be done. You will have a heart attitude in perfect alignment with the will of God. You will ask according to His will. He gave you His word to have abounding hope. As sons of God you are an heir of God. We are heirs but we have the opportunity to be joint-heirs!
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
In the word of God there is always more. Not only can we abide in the vine, we can be fruitful. What is abiding in you? Is it the word of God? Abiding = to remain, to endure (have patience). When His word abides in you, you will treasure them and you will have a testimony. Others will see you wanting to be in church, hearing His word.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,
If the word of God abides in you, there will be a passion. You will believe that everything in your life is working together for your good (Romans 8:28). This doesn’t mean we may not fail. We are still in this flesh, but He is faithful and loves you. God knows everything about your life and He never leaves nor forsakes. The word is your life. You live by the faith of the Son of God (Gal. 2:20). Every answer, everything in life is knowing the Word of God. Most times when you make a request to God, does He answer immediately? No. When the word of God abides in you, you will be enabled to wait. How does He do things your life? Never the way you think, but the bottom line is - He will bring it to pass. Believe Him for everything. He will do it because He said it. Are you living a life where He is taking you beyond your wildest dreams? If you have a heart for God’s best, there is nothing more valuable. Are you sitting in a pew or in the heavens with Christ? The alternative is your own way which brings leanness to your soul. When you receive something out of the will of God it might make you happy, but then there are consequences – emptiness, sadness and anguish. You’ll be robbed of abundant life. If you go after lies too long it will alter your life. The devil wants you to get hard. If you don’t like something don’t get hard, instead get on your knees. If you stay hard you will miss fruit in your life. Pray for the desire for the truth, to love Him more. Make decisions toward the word of God. We are not of this world. You are the Lord’s. Walk in what God’s given, with the Word abiding in you. Stow away the truth in your heart. Let it be a honing device that seeks out everything; especially relationships, friends, where you live. Will I be able to gather with saints of like precious faith? There isn’t much time. Jesus is going to appear and we shall be like Him. God has given us the fullness of His truth. Finish with a full joy. Let the word of God abide in you. His words are the treasure! What is your treasure?
