Bible Text: John 17:13 |

Full Joy                          June 30, 2019

John 17:13  And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

How incredible is His heart toward us!

This means my joy completed, finished in them. My good pleasure. What Jesus is after in us is a fully matured companion.

Psalms 103:7  He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

So great and powerful was His joy to have a wife that He endured the shame of the cross. To have His joy fulfilled in your life you need to be filled with the Holy Ghost. A wife is the joy that completes a man.

Colossians 1:25-28  Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;  26  Eventhe mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:  27  To whom God would make known what isthe riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:  28  Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Paul was the overseer of this revelation. The complete joy of Jesus is you knowing the mystery of Christ. You have His very life to grow up and be His spouse.

John 15:11  These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

Remain = abiding as a spouse. Jesus will not take His throne without her. Fight for your inheritance. Never lay down your crown. Spouses make mistakes and fail but they never leave their first love.

Romans 10:17  So then faith comethby hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

You’ve got to hear Paul’s gospel to have the joy of Jesus fulfilled in you.

Ecclesiastes 2:26a  For Godgiveth to a man that isgood in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy:

When you know, you can have joy. Wisdom and knowledge give you joy. Joy unspeakable even when you are in a trial, because you know you are more than a conqueror through Him (Rom. 8:37), that you’ve been blessed with all spiritual blessings (Eph 1:3), and you know He’s got it.

Ephesians 3:18-19  May be able to comprehend with all saints what isthe breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  19  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Comprehend and to know mean wisdom and knowledge. Filled with fulness – Christ in you worship. All by faith, by hearing His word. Who are the joyful? Those that follow Paul, he is our example.

Philippians 4:1  Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, mydearly beloved.

Full joy is the heart for those that stand fast in the Lord.

Philippians 4:3  And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and withother my fellowlabourers, whose names arein the book of life.

True yokefellow = those bonded in marriage. Those in love with Paul’s gospel. Paul is in love with the Bridegroom. Paul’s joy is the same as the Lord’s – the same mind.

Philippians 2:2  Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, beingof one accord, of one mind.

The one thing, to press toward the mark to hear the voice of the Bridegroom when He calls His wife to Him. The joy is knowing the Bridegrooms voice.

John 3:29  He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

The friend of the Bridegroom is with Him now – the Old Testament worthies of faith. When He calls, “Rise up my love my fair one and come away with me”, my joy will be fulfilled!
