Bible Text: II Timothy 3:1-5 |

The Last Days      July 5, 2015

So much fear in the world today. Perfect love casts out all fear. You need to know the whole counsel of God. Place your confidence in the scriptures. The bible tells about all these events.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Who are these ones and how did they get like that?
Romans 1:21-32 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; . . . 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, . . . 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
People today who are not staying in the truth are believing the lie.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, . . . 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind,
Reprobate = “unable to discern right from wrong”. Their conscience was seared with a hot iron (1 Tim 4:2).
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, . . . haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
These are our headlines every day. The evil of man is waxing worse and worse. God did not give us these signs to scare us. He gave us these so we would not be alarmed or hysterical, but instead to be ready. We should be expecting the coming of the Lord. Perspective is everything. You are seated in the heavens in Christ. When we see such ungodliness, it brings sorrow. But we do not sorrow as those who have no hope because any moment our faith will be made sight. We will see Him and be like Him. If your affections are entangled in the affairs of this life you are going to miss God’s best. In Noah’s day many died by the flood, but there were eight that were rejoicing because they believed the word of God, they believed His promises. The ark is here, the boarding is now. Be those that are believing Him and looking for Him. He promised His Son would come, die and rise – and it happened. He promised His Son would come again, and this is our time, so it will be so.
1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
There were more than eight that were not disobedient but they weren’t looking and missed the ark. Today many are asleep, they are not looking for His coming.
2 Peter 3:3-14 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? . . . 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. . . 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
The bride is not worried about Him showing up. God help us to look up. There is no other way but Paul’s gospel – the whole counsel of God. Grace. Man can have no power over me except it be given him of my Father. Give more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest they slip (Hebrews 2:1). Abide in it and tarry a bit longer. He shall appear – we shall be like Him!
