Bible Text: Hebrews 11:8-9 |

Believe and Walk In It               July 17, 2016

Hebrews 11:8-9 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
His promises are yea and amen – they are accomplished. God had already given them to Abraham, all he had to do was believe. His promises are for you. Obey by believing and go walk in it. Abraham wasn’t looking for it, God called him. Even though all this was given to Abraham, he would not enjoy his inheritance until he went in by faith. He couldn’t hesitate. God has before ordained good works for you to walk in. Take the grace and thank God for everything, that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. You go unto Him alone without the camp. There wasn’t a big welcome mat for Abraham, but a strange (hostile) country. Abraham went through trials and failures. He may have doubted, but God says, I called you, you are just right for it. We have exceeding great and precious promises, a better thing.
Hebrews 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
Rejoice in the inheritance He has called us to. Believe and go walk in it. Paul’s gospel has been preached to every creature under heaven. Jesus died for every man. God foreknew.
In Genesis 24 Rebekah did not hesitate, she said, “I will go”. That’s how it is for us.
2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
It is not ours unless we walk in it.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
We are sheep, we need a shepherd. He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Paul commended the Bereans because they searched the scriptures to see whether the things Paul said were so. Don’t miss the best part. Jesus is coming soon. Wake up.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
We need to walk in it like Abraham. Dwelling in tabernacles is hearing the truth. You need to keep hearing the message or it will grow cold, it will slip from you. Hold fast the crown – occupy. This is the bridal message. Abraham felt like we do, it’s a strange land. It’s strange for our flesh to rest in the grace of God. Believe it’s ours just by dwelling (settle down in marriage).
Song of Solomon 7:10 I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me.
Don’t wonder how you got here or am I worthy; it’s mine by faith. God has enabled and strengthened me to walk through it. His love overcomes my guilt when I fail. Even when I doubt, He abides faithful. Many Christians miss the bridal beauty of Christ, they think they need to do work, but it’s all Him.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Rejoice for all that great grace and mercy.
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
