Bible Text: Matthew 13:44-46 |

Believe and Settle Down                     August 12, 2018

Matthew 13:44-46  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 45.  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46.  Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

This is a glowing example to us of God dealing with Israel and with the Gentiles. In verse 44 God is dealing with Israel, His people. We see them in Hebrews 11, Old Testament worthies of faith. When Jesus came to His own and they received Him not (John 1:11), He turned to the Gentiles. Israel = land, Gentiles = sea. In verses 45-46 God is dealing with the Gentiles. In the field there were many treasures and in the sea there were many pearls but there was one particular pearl of great price.

In the Gentile bride studies we saw that Boaz redeemed it all because he wanted Ruth. Solomon had 700 wives but without Abishag, there was no kingdom. Esther was loved above all the other women. The prophets wrote these things for us. This all points to one thing – you! He has placed us to hear this message. When will we just believe in the grace of God?! He wants you to be His bride.

Romans 8:17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him,that we may be also glorified together.

The glory of the manis the woman. Jesus will not take His throne without His glory. His wife is coming out of the Gentiles. The bride will come out from among the church. She is the pearl of great price. He gave us faith for salvation and He gives us the faith to be His bride. We’re born little lord’s of all but we need to know it or we’ll remain a servant.

Galatians 4:1  Now I say, Thatthe heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

The innumerable company waves palms before the throne but we are being offered to sit with Him in the midst of the throne. The prophets saw it afar off, Elisha wanted to see it close and he asked for a double portion. Why isn’t this preached all over? This is immense and incredible but there are many that don’t want the whole counsel of God. It involves suffering. Little unknown Esther, Abishag, Ruth all suffered, but they were seeking grace. We find all grace in Paul’s gospel.

Acts 20:32  And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

He saw you as His priceless pearl. God had a plan. He foreknew us so He predestinated us. Foreknow comes before predestination.

Romans 8:29-30  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to beconformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.  30.  Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Think about how you came to the truth. His love is beyond. The word is not void it will accomplish and prosper.

Isaiah 55:11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thingwhereto I sent it.

Believe and settle down. We are it! He chose us and we are His workmanship. He foreknew us to have it, and He will perform it. Believe in the grace of God!
