Truth in Love October 25, 2015
Jesus is just waiting for us to grow up so He can marry us.
Ephesians 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Vocation = calling. Philippians 3:14. . . the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. This is a divine invitation to embrace the high calling. He is pleading with us to wake up to His proposal.
Ephesians 4:6-7 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
The measure of the gift of Christ is without limit, it is infinite grace. You have it all because you have Him; all blessings (Eph. 1:3).
Ephesians 4:8-13 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. . . 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
We are called to grow up before Him. We grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. If we look at ourselves, we think there is no way. Believe that He will perform it. My confidence is in Him. He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. (Eph. 3:20). We are His workmanship. We have the very life of Jesus.
Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
The bride doesn’t have to do anything but grow up. The lily didn’t toil – ‘it just be’ and was glorious (Luke 12:27). Just let Christ in you, the hope of glory, be. Like the lily needs water and sun, we need truth in love. That’s why He gave us teachers and pastors, etc, because they preach the word of God. Truth in love is Paul’s gospel, and the Holy Ghost. Believe the whole counsel of God. The bridal message is God’s ultimate purpose, the pinnacle. The ultimate power of God is shown in that He took us in sinful flesh, and put us in a sinful world, that He might grow us up in all things, to be the bride. It’s all here for us. The grace has been freely given; all we have to do is say, “Yes Lord”. This is for you.
Just like Esther, King Ahasuerus went to fetch his queen but then something happened.
Jesus saw you and said, “That’s the girl I’m going to marry”. You are so worth waiting for.
Jesus is waiting for the Father to say, “Go get her”. Could it be today?!
