Be Bold in the Lord November 27, 2016
How thankful I am to God for how He fights for me. How serious it is when someone touches God’s anointed. When we have failed, God proves His love for us.
Psalms 40:11-15 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me. 12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. 13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. 14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. 15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
Failure as a Christian – are you there? The Lord gives grace to a humble heart. The enemy would have us sit in a corner feeling grief and shame, but David was bold and called out to God to be delivered. He grew in knowledge of the godly jealousy wherewith he was loved.
Psalms 18:6-17 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. 13 The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire. 14 Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them. 17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.
Pretty dramatic! That’s the drama that you are loved in the love of God. He’s describing the deliverance of the Lord. Lay hold of the strength and power of the love of God. The good fight of faith is to believe the power that is for you. Pray in accordance to the Word of God, it will cast out all fear.
Psalms 18:35-42 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great. 36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip. 37 I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed. 38 I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet. 39 For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me. 40 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me. 41 They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not. 42 Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
Be bold in the word of God. We are blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ. Have faith in the love of God for you. The love of God will change you.
Psalms 55:12-16; 22-23 For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him: 13 But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. 14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company. 15 Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them. 16 As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. 22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. 23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.
Pray in accordance with the power of the word of God. Get bold in the Lord. This is a battle. He is looking for good soldiers who fight.
Zechariah 2:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts . . . he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
Let the word cover us and fight for us. He loves you with great passion! Call out to Him, believe Him.
Quit being pushed around in unbelief. It pleases Him to deliver you.
