Bible Text: Ephesians 4:11-15 |

The Perfection of Grace                       March 24, 2019

Ephesians 4:11-12  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  12  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Every one of these was given for the furtherance of the gospel of Christ. The only thing that builds you up is the word of God. It’s all the Word, the knowledge of the Son of God.

Ephesians 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

How could this happen in you? By feeding the life of Christ that lives in you. That’s how you grow up to the perfect man. That’s for us.

Ephesians 4:14-15  That we henceforthbe no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, andcunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;  15  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, evenChrist:

Don’t wrestle with the truth, grow up. Don’t stay in drama (in pity). When you are childish you’ll listen to other things than the word of God. Our Father is God, and He is passionate for His children, and Jesus is a passionate lover for His wife. He wants perfection. Jesus wasn’t ready to be offered until all the word was performed in Him, and the same is true for us. Then we will be ready to be offered like Paul. Perfect = full age, mature.

Hebrews 5:14  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age,

He wants His sons to be found perfect. He wants you ready to reign jointly together with Him. Get excited about the lover of your soul. True perfection is simple.

2 Corinthians 11:3  . . .the simplicity that is in Christ.

For perfection to be manifest, you have to be in love with whatever you are after. The apostle Paul loved grace. It caused him to grow up.

2 Peter 3:18  But grow in grace, and inthe knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

God the Father gave you His Son for you to have all the word of God. Paul said, “Be partakers of my grace”. God gave us all grace because He gave us His Son who is full of grace and truth. We are born of God. He gave you the life of His Son. We are His vessels of grace. The perfection of grace’s work never changes.

1 Corinthians 15:10But by the grace of God I am what I am:

The only thing you can add to grace is more grace. Don’t try to perfect your life, take His. Mankind are the only vessels made for grace. The only instruments grace can abound in; that can bring Him glory. You can reject grace or you can let grace.

2 Corinthians 9:8  And God isable to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in allthings, may abound to every good work:

What are all those works of grace for?

Acts 20:32  And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

Let grace make you His masterpiece.
