 The Mystery                            January 20, 2019

1 Corinthians 2:4-10  And my speech and my preaching wasnot with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  5  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.  6  Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:  7  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, eventhe hidden wisdom,which God ordained before the world unto our glory:  8  Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it,they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.  9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  10  But God hath revealed themunto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

This is our life, the wisdom of the mystery of God which is unto our glory. Throughout the word of God, it speaks of beholding and seeing the glory of God, but now it is unto our glory. This mystery gives us transforming knowledge, because it’s knowing Him and His love unto our glory. Verse 10 – it’s all by the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost in you gives the power of God to have enlightened eyes of understanding. Transforming from glory to glory. How much glory?

Revelation 21:9-11a  And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.  10  And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,  11  Having the glory of God:

This bride descending is the hidden mystery.

Colossians 1:26  Eventhe mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

This is yours. Will you let it be revealed to you now? He revealed this to ones that already knew Him; but there’s more glory. Moses said, “show me thy glory”. But this is to our glory – to be glory for Him.

Ephesians 3:4-6  Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)  5  Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;  6  That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

That mystery was given to Paul. We get the message by the Holy Spirit revealing it through Paul’s gospel. The proposal. Fellowheirs = joint-heirs as husband and wife.

Romans 8:16-17  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him,that we may be also glorified together.

The bridal message involves suffering. Take the gospel. It will separate you, but you enter in to it with Jesus – wanting others to turn to Him. This is ordained for you.

Colossians 1:27  To whom God would make known what isthe riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

He will have His glory, the question is will it be you? He wants you glorified together with Him. This isn’t just beholding glory, its being the glory. There is only one way to be this glory for Him – growth. Understanding, hearing, and cherishing the mystery. Growing up to be the all glorious bride for Him. This is the greatest evidence of this readied wife:

Colossians 2:2  That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

Our comfort as we are knit together in full understanding. Encourage and strengthen one another, as we will not be moved. Stand and win by being knit together. Knit = “the very act of consummating”. His Spirit has consummated the marriage in our hearts. She is a readied wife, a body. He makes us one, this glorious church. Dearly beloved. Grow more wise to this incredible riches of glory moment we are in. By the grace of God we might just be ready!
