Know the Truth April 3, 2016
2 Samuel 18:19-33
22 Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But howsoever, let me, I pray thee, also run after Cushi. And Joab said, Wherefore wilt thou run, my son, seeing that thou hast no tidings ready? 23 But howsoever, said he, let me run. And he said unto him, Run. Then Ahimaaz ran by the way of the plain, and overran Cushi.
We see two runners. Ahimaaz was a gifted runner and had so much zeal but did not have a message. He was not ready to witness. All of us need to know the truth.
1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
That’s the calling of every man in this life.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
I want to be pleasing to my Father. You need to know the word of God. Paul’s gospel brings all of the word of God together. We hear the whole counsel of God. To really know something you have to be able to tell it, it has to be yours in order to give it. The Holy Ghost was poured out upon the disciples and they received power to tell the things they knew. The bride comes out from among the family of God. Be like the Bereans – love the truth. Search the scriptures.
Life gets fiery – the only thing that takes me along is love – walk in assurance of that love.
They that know His love can tell it.
2 Corinthians 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
2 Timothy 1:11-12 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
In order to be persuaded He is able to do everything in your life you must know Him. Get understanding from the scriptures. We need to know His desire to us, His plan and purpose and power for us and that He has already given it to you. The Holy Ghost takes the things of Christ and shows them to us. If you want knowledge and faith it’s all by the Holy Ghost. Jesus had many things to say to His disciples but they couldn’t understand them until they were filled with the Holy Ghost. Without being full there is no abounding in the hope and joy in believing God. A young man can walk godly in this wicked world by taking heed to the word of God. We need to know the truth now. We need to study. We can be zealous but without knowledge we have nothing to say. I want my testimony to be of the deep things of God. An epistle read of men of the bridal message – that they know that I have been with Jesus. Christ in me, the hope of glory.
