Bible Text: III John 1:4 |

Walk in Truth                      April 9, 2017

3 John 1:4  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

This is the same for us. What joy to see our children walking in the Lord. Sons led by the Spirit.

Romans 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

The Greek word for sons is huios = “mature, fully grown”. There is no greater joy than seeing children grow beyond all they ever thought they could be. When we grow in grace and intimate knowledge, there is nothing that delights God more than that.

How do we know we are walking in the Spirit? We will have all truth and go after it, and be abounding in love. We’ll also be abounding in the coming of the Lord, not just passing through, but a pitter patter in our hearts wondering if we will see Him today. That’s the rejoicing!

Many things we want for our kids – education, jobs, athletics, etc. but the one thing we learned to desire is that our children walk in truth and that love would abound more and more to one another.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Somehow we think our children are going to be perfect. Now, we are not to compromise, stand and withstand. There is no such thing as responsible sinning. Stand on the promises of God and wait. God did not make us perfect people. We have specific flaws, divine shortcomings, tendencies apart from the word of God to show us our reliance on Him. He keeps us. He uses our infirmities for the greatest gains of grace, faith, and truth. It comes in the land of my afflictions. Don’t think it strange (I Peter 4:12). Encourage yourself in the Lord, live by faith. God gave you the Word, that’s your life.

Ephesians 4:15  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

The land of affliction made me fruitful. Remind yourself of His promises. You are hearing Paul’s gospel. Don’t live your life in the past; “I wish I had” is defeat. Praise the Lord always. What part of my life have I wasted if right now I am loving His appearing?

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

In one moment of believing Him, He works even those wasted times, that all things work together for my good. There is no greater joy than hearing and seeing my children walk in truth. Make strides toward more truth. It’s Passover time. That blood is still all-powerful today. Don’t take your eyes off of it. That blood has every victory for your house today!
