August 2, 2015 Study the Truth in Love
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Study means to have a zeal, dedicate, be encouraged to study the Word. That’s pleasing to God.
Many were filled with the Holy Ghost at camp. It’s not for a feeling, or a moment, or tongues, but to set you on fire for all the dimensions of the love of God for you. To have the full capacity of understanding. To understand all truth and be filled with all love. To be ready for the wedding; not as a guest but as the bride herself. The Holy Ghost paints Paul’s gospel in all its splendor. Love causes you to want to know Him.
2 Timothy 1:5-7 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. 6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Paul wanted Timothy to stir up the gift of the Holy Ghost. He knew the message but was neglecting the power. The love, power, joy, and excitement will be lacking in your life if you fear. Timothy needed the love power rekindled for the studying to be effective. Study without love profits nothing. The infilling of the Holy Ghost is wonderful and essential, now make it count. The Holy Ghost ministers the deep things of God, Paul’s gospel. The apostle Paul had the message of the ages – Jesus is going to have a bride. Study to make it your own. Hear the Bridegroom’s voice in every verse. The high calling of God in Christ. The exceeding riches of His grace. We must have teachers and pastors to show us this.
2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Do you want gold, silver, and precious stones, or wood, hay, and stubble? Get in the word of God – wake up. How can you hear without a preacher?
Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Preaching not with words or sensations that excite you for a moment. May we humble ourselves to the word of God. If you go against God’s way you will fail. He is faithful but we must be willing to go His way because there is no other way into the midst of the throne. Ask Him – for me and my family, if by any means, it will be the way of the bride. Joint heirs with Jesus! Study to show thyself approved because a wedding is coming!
