Bible Text: Psalm 50:15 |

The God of Trouble             October 23, 2016

Psalms 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Aren’t you thankful for the God of trouble? He is the God that never turns from our trouble. Troubles are part of the before ordained good works that we should walk in. This is the God of grace who waits for me to cry out to Him in time of trouble. This is an immense invitation and longing for us to enter in and embrace His mercy. Sometimes our most intimate time of fellowship is in our time of trouble. Just proclaim His name and every single time, He delivers you.

Deliver = “to rescue”, but it also means “to equip you, make you strong, and arm you for war”.

Song of Solomon 1:2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.

Kiss = “to equip with weapons”. He’s looking for ones ready to battle. Troubles aren’t just for a moment but a detailed plan for eternity. Don’t miss it. Enter in. This is a deliverance that brings us the weapons. My troubles glorify Him. Your life lives by the faith of the Son of God. Fight a good fight. God is for me. This is deliverance with eternal glory. Paul gloried in his infirmities. Delivering us from trouble is mercy. We don’t deserve it, but that’s why God loves it – he loves His mercy.

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Where will He have to take you for you to have a broken and contrite heart?

Psalms 51:8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

Life is a vapor – so quickly gone, yet we get so entangled. We can either see truth or go about our way and be miserable. But there is something about those that believe – there is a joy. He wants it for you but you have to step out and walk in it. His mercy is what makes us humble. The cherubim’s eyes were fixed on the mercy seat. There is nothing hard for God. As thou hast believed, so be it done unto you. We have trouble, or we are in trouble – but God. Mercy makes you contrite. It causes your heart to be humble, and grace is multiplied. A praise comes into your heart for Him. Our trouble, as we lay it in His hands, glorifies Him. When I have no strength, no pride, when I’m embarrassed. That’s when I finally have to say, “Lord help!” Do you glory the most in your infirmities, or do you complain the most in your infirmities? Complaining is not believing. Complaining is dwelling around the promise and never entering in, missing the mark for the prize. Praise Him for the trouble knowing that you’re suffering for Christ’s sake. Do you know this? Do you believe it? The only way is to get away from the world, and our eyes off us. It’s time to cry out.
